Marcia was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in January 2014. After much testing and searching for the appropriate doctor, Marcia and her family decided that Cancer Treatment Centers of America was her best option. She began chemotherapy treatment February 14, 2014. The doctor and staff are wonderful and embraced our mother. Despite receiving devastating news about her tests and our father almost passing out, she held her head high and said, "I will not accept this. This cancer is going to go crawl back under the rock it came from." The doctor smiled and I believe he realized at that moment that Marcia is a fighter.
We are asking that you help her out in some way. This is an event where you can do so. Marcia has touched so many lives and continues to do so. Even as she is ill, she continues to ask others how they are doing and wants the best for everyone. She has many children and grandchildren that she calls and treats as her own.
As with any medical expenses it's puts a strain on the family. Marcia and Jerry travel to the Cancer of America every other month, sometimes more. Marcia is a strong, selfless and caring woman. Some how she has the strength and courage to continue her treatment. She is blessed by having health insurance. However, her deductible for this is $25,000. That has to paid before anything is covered. They have to pay for all doctor visits, medication, testing, etc. of out their pocket until they have paid $25,000. That being said, she continually stresses that she may not have enough funds to continue to pay for her oxygen or medication.
Marcia is going to try and join us for dinner on October 11, 2014. We hope all you can join us on this day to help celebrate Marcia's life and help support her.
Much Love
